Who is gmail

Gmail is a free email service provided by Google. In many ways, Gmail is like any other email service: You can send and receive emails , block spam , create an address book , and perform other basic email tasks.

But it also has some more unique features that help make it one of the most popular online email services. In this lesson, we'll talk about some of the features and advantages of Gmail, and we'll give an overview of the Gmail window.

Creating a Google account is needed to access Gmail because it is just one of the many services offered by Google to registered users.

Signing up for a Google account is free and easy, and naming your new Gmail address will be a part of the sign-up process. This means whenever you're signed in to Gmail, you are automatically signed in to your Google account. Of course, you don't have to use any of these features. You may just want to focus on email for now. However, if you'd like more information, you can review our Google account tutorial, where we talk about some of the different services Google offers and show you how to change your privacy settings.

You can also remove options to forward, copy, download, and print. Get more done with Gmail. Stay connected and get organized. Start a Chat, jump into a video call with Meet, or collaborate in a Doc, all right from Gmail. Get more done faster.

Write emails and messages faster with features like Smart Compose to spend more time doing what you love. Never forget to reply. Gentle nudges help you stay on top of everything.

I'm not sure if it represents a vulnerability, but certainly I expect Google will try to get rid of this feature. The SecuriTeam blog has reported that it is possible to expose the full name of the user who registered a GMail account.

This is, of course, contingent on the fact that the person who registered the GMail account didn't use a fake first and last name, but still, an interesting trick. The reason this vulnerability exists is due to the strong tie-ins between GMail and all of Google's other services, such as Google Calendar, Blogger, and Google Code AND the strong desire for Google Apps to be able to share data with people.

This isn't the first time, the second time, or the last time the strong tie-ins have produced interesting results, see my post on Billy Rios's Google Code exploit , Billy's taking ownership pwnership of content attacks against Google Spreadsheets , Billy and I stealing documents from Google Docs , and see my talk at Black Hat for more.

Ok, big deal right? Well, yeah, it's not earth shattering, but it is extremely interesting from what could be done with it. The talk centered around getting into the underground of identity theft and phishing.

One thing that was clearly demonstrated was the lack of intelligence of a number of Phishers. This could give up the full names of some of those Phishers.
