Psp why use custom firmware
The custom firmware will stick until you totally power your PSP off. As mentioned earlier when you normally press the power button the PSP will sleep, to totally power the PSP off you need to hold the power button down for 5 seconds. You will be able to play any game released to date on either 6. Last edited: Apr 29, InsaneNutter , Aug 27, Akito , brandz , MrDogman and 6 others like this.

A very simple but very effective guide. It works like a charm in my psp with motherboard TA Only one question: Can I delete the files from memory stick? Yes you can delete everything if you could make the custom firmware permanent, if not you only need to keep the Fast Recovery files.
InsaneNutter , Dec 2, Joined: Dec 3, Messages: 1 Likes Received: 0. I have a PSP that has custom firmware installed from a few years back. I've been able to update to the 6. Any ideas on how to get rid of IR Shell? Thanks Brad. Unzip the folder and place the following contents into the GAME folder on your memory stick.
If you are installing ME just run the installer and follow the directions on the display. Once complete you should now have permanent CFW. Follow the directions on the display and then launch cIPL Flasher to make it permanent.
Below will cover installing Infinity instead. Do not install custom firmware over each other, you may end up bricking your device. Follow the tab for installing temporary CFW on all models first, then download Infinity. Then Exit USB mode. Open Infinity 2 and press X to install. Press X to reboot. Launch Infinity 2 again and press the left dpad. Select the custom firmware you are using and press X. There should now be a circle next to it.
Press Home button to exit. There are 2 options for permanent CFW for the model. You can use cIPL flasher or use Infinity 2. CIPL flasher was meant for only and some models. Sony patched this with newer motherboard versions. If your PSP is a newer version you will only be able to install Infinity. If it is an older version you can use cIPL flasher.
If this worries you, please follow the steps to install Infinity 2. If it says TAv3 you can only use Infinity 2. Usually you'll have to unzip the folder you've downloaded. I recommend 7-Zip. Right click this folder, and select 'Copy'. Close the window. There should be an update program in here, if this program doesn't work, or shows up as corrupted, you may need to find another site to download your CFW from.
Follow the instructions the program gives you. Please comment if you like anything about this. It could be the humor, the pretty pictures, the degree of unhelpfulness, or anything. You can even tell me why you hate it. I don't care. Just comment. It's one of the steps. You have to now. Reply 1 year ago. Reply 5 years ago. Actually i had updated my new PSP with 6. Be careful installing a full permanent firmware to the , early model 's are usually okay, but the later models have a different motherboard.
