Read about the Archmages in Tyr's Hand. Went there. Started killing mobs outside chatedral for shared spawns, then killed an Archmage. Crusader dropped. A little Karma for having patience enough to farm Disgusting Oozeling for a while, without any drop. Reasoning being cats get 2. With the procrate for crusader being fairly good, this should work out better than the flat agi bonus. Many players leveling up alts are willing to pay a lot of gold for that design.

Comment by maeltne I farmed 2 of these in a row from the Archmages in Eastern Plaguelands, killed about 20 of them, first one dropped, as i was looting, another archmage spawned and aggro'd, was lucky enough for that one to drop another. Took about 30 minutes total. So luck does play a hand in this.

Comment by The wowhead gear score rating on this enchant is really low. I'm assuming this is because it doesn't directly add stats. I guess there are other proc-chance enchants that also suffer the same problem. Rather deceptive given the awesome power of this enchant.

Comment by Scoty Saying you need to be lucky to get this is an understatement. I've had 2 characters camped at both locations for 4 days now. I've killed the two mobs over times each. Don't want to sound like I'm ignoring the fact that drop rates are based on RNG, but such a turn of events is pretty insane, and prompts me to at least question the accuracy of current drop rates versus reported drop rates.

Before getting the lucky drops, one player I talked to about the formula insisted that going to Western Plaguelands to farm the Scarlet Spellbinders would be a waist of time. Ehem, thank god I didn't follow that advice. So all in all if I had one piece of advice it would be this - don't overlook the Scarlet Spellbinders!

Today I quite rapidly maxed my Argent Dawn rep it was near exalted , so aside this recipe I did not really have anything to do there. When I was waiting on my bro to finish a hc for something completely unrelated I thought to fly up to wp one more time and gank the spellbinders whilst he was busy. I kill the first nine, nothing. I was pretty much about to hs, go to the bathroom, return to see a Spellbinder respawn, I kill it, and the rest as they say is history.

Sometimes I hate this game when it comes to pure luck Sea Turtle; gaaaaaah still don't have it , sometimes I love it. This was one of those latter times. In all respect though, good luck to others farming. EDIT: oh I didn't read the most recent comments, only looked on page 1, and it seems that in the course of the last two-three months this drop rate was upped. That, or the last few people farming have been very lucky or it's only the lucky people that post.

All in all my bro is paying g for the formula and with all the sidetracking that's fine as it is. The scrolls sell very well, so he'll get it back soon enough. Then thought "Wait, that's a huge price reduction, I should grab it. Exited for dinner.

Came back 2 hours later, logged in to my shaman, first thing I killed, a Scarlet Archmage, I got it. Lucky much?

I've experience farming rare items in-game, and my advice is not to give up. Farm for no more than hours max, and break from it. It gets boring. Best of luck to all of you looking for this. Oh, and still debating what to do with the one I bought, since I'll be leveling a second Enchanter for DEing purposes.

Comment by I don't understand why blizzard feels the need to nerf enchants. At level 80 strength isn't as much of an increase in dps as it was at 60 so it's already being nerfed just by players having better gear and needing a bigger boost in stats to see a bigger boost in dps. There's no reason to nerf enchants except they're easier to come by since they can be farmed more easily with higher levels. Am I flat out wrong or has anybody else noticed this?

Begin downranking, NOW! After that best thing to do is stay at top and kill the spellbinders that spawn there over and over again. Got lucky first time and got the enchant within 20 min. I killed everything that moved, and left everything that was standing still. Solo'd as a 65 Destruction Lock in sub-par gear no BoA, green gems, etc. I died a couple of times before I got into the rhythm. If you're around my level, be careful when you're pulling the cathedral mobs. It took me hours and I'd estimate that I cleared the entire area times. The pacing was good because right as I finished killed them they started to respawn.

After all that, I said "WTS g" just to see what would happen, and it sold instantly! Comment by I farmed this when wotlk came out, and i used my lock in demo form to take out all those elites in the tyrs hand or something.

Comment by Uglius I did a little testing with loom enchants and results was for me following 30min on lvl 60 dummy with 61 rogue white dps with 0 miss change and 0 expertise : Crusader:. For rogues Crusader might be nice until lvl 60 due the healing effect, but after that it weakens significently.

So I'm pretty close to positive this is no longer a drop in this area or from this mob, considering that they are also undead now seems a good reason as any why they no longer drop.

Even though Righteous Orbs still drop from Strat I see no reason to think that it means Crusader is still dropping. I'm still seeing the occasional Formula in the AH for upwards of g, and I think I'm going to buy it.

If anyone has anything helpful to add, please let me know so that I can stop wasting my time. Comment by Similar situation, I've killed a couple thousand mobs in Tyrs Hand over about two or three weeks to no avail. However, I opened a ticket and indeed a GM confirmed that the formula still drops, but ofcourse, confirming that the archmages and possibly curates are the mobs that it drops off of would be a hint, and therefore is not allowed.

Comment by Looking at the past couple of dozen posts, there have been enough contradictory reports of this item's existence from people who claim to have spoken with GM's, it's difficult to draw anything conclusive about the state of this formula. Here is what I know based off of empirical evidence, via the auction house. And this is not based off of scattered observations. Prior to Cataclysm, it wasn't that difficult to come by in the AH.

While it was somewhat rare, with minimal patience, you could find one posted at a relatively affordable price. Often times there would be several in the AH at once. Since the release of Cataclysm, the frequency in which I've seen this item has gone waaay down, to the point where I hardly see them anymore, and when I do stumble across one the price is skyrocketed to 5 to 10 times the pre-cataclysm amount.

It's a simple case of supply and demand. I can't claim with any certainty that this item doesn't drop, but based on the evidence, I'm extremely comfortable saying that at the very least, if it does drop, the rate has been substantially decreased. My guess is that it is not in the game anymore. Comment by snowscar this is selling for g on my server!

Comment by i just spoke to a GM and he confirmed to me that they have changed this recipe to a world drop, so it can drop from any mobs now, so GL on farming for it. The pattern is NOT a world drop. As no one has sold this pattern on my servers AH except me since 4. This reaffirms it was removed by accident. I used to farm the pattern prior to 4. I sold my last Crusader Pattern yesterday for 20, gold.

If you find it cheap, I'd highly recommend buying it and reselling it. Blizzard will no doubt re-add this to the game for 4. Comment by Luxio Just had this drop for me about 15 minutes ago after 30 minutes of farming, as of the new patch it does indeed still drop. If you're farming for this enchant, kill every mob you see, they all have a chance to respawn as an Archmage aside from the guys along the wall overlooking the lower half of Tyr's hand.

World of Warcraft. Classic Vanilla The Frozen Throne Reforged. Explore Wikis Community Central. However, is not as rare as any other items in the game. In some cases I managed to get recipes in an hour of farming, or so.

On my last farming session for the Formula: Enchant Weapon — Crusader, I got the following loot, within 1 hour of farming. The recipe dropped after about 35 minutes of farming. In other words, full clears of the upper yard.

So, this was the loot:. They use almost all frost spells, including frost bolt and frost nova. High frost resist and you will take almost no damage. Be prepared for the slowing and immobolizing effects. They will frost nova you and run to range, and then cast frost bolts. They die fairly quickly tho. In cat form it was taking about 10 hits to down one assuming starting from stealth and behind, I am a feral druid, well equipped btw. There are three spawns at both the bottom and top of the tower.

There is also a spawn that circles the base of the tower, inside the wall, but not on the interior. There is one more spawn that spawns south on the road, and patrols up to the named scarlet hunter, and back down to a camp of scarlet mages. Other adds that you might see insider the tower are a named captain not elite who is melee with a 3 sec stun and has a bit of armor. He spawns faster then the spellbinders, and starts at the top of the tower, and patrols from there, down to the base, then out front, where he stops by each of the stationary tower guards, before going back to the top of the tower.

There is also another Scarlet avenger who circles the base of the tower along the same root as the spellbinder. The avengers are fast melee duel wielders with some armor and no special attacks I saw. There are two guards in from of the tower who are also avengers, but you can avoid their aggro once inside the tower, if you are level As said before, they do frost damage with movement impairing effects.

After taking them down the first time at the base, then killing the named on the stairs, and then killing all three on top, I found if I waited for the repop, they could be killed one at a time as the respawned, limiting the damage taken by having the two in the background. Also, killing the named as soon as he popped help keep him from sneaking up on me. This isn't too much of a problem on top of th tower, but at the base they can run out front and aggor the two guards.

The avengers and named don't try to run. Going to Use the pattern, so I am very happy it dropped, saving me g the current price on Kilrogg. If I do go back, and find another, I'll probably auction it for 50g, Buyout, because I believe our server's price is a bit absurd Happy hunting, hope this helps! Comment by Thottbot I was a level 54 and was doing the quest that takes you to the top of the tower to loot a box for some chain quest. People in the guild said that this was the only place that the crusader enchant dropped, it did not and no one was surprised.

The next day I was questing in the western plaguelands and someone ask me if I would help them with a quest, it was the same one that I had done the day before, so I said yeah I know where it is and I would help. We went to the tower killed all the guards got the quest item then started looting the bodies and a green formula came up in the window, it was the crusader enchant, I expressed greed, he expressed greed, I won.

Then another formula came up in the window, it was the crusader enchant, I expressed greed, he expressed greed, I won. My heart was beating so hard, I ask him if he had completed the quest? A little while later I thought, what am I going to do with two of these, and what would be the right thing. The enchanter in our guild that I run instances with just made and I still had it in the bank, so I gave him the other copy.

EDIT: sold for g :P sold for Had a little competition with other horde players, so I blew shards shadowburning the spawns before they could tag them and they left within 15 minutes. Also got 11 stacks of runecloth, 15g in silver loot, 6 or 7 greens, a Two of Beasts card, greys, and 2 Thorium Lockboxes. A 63 elite occasionally spawns on top of the tower. I'm lvl 70 so I could kill them fairly quickly so it was tedious and slow waiting for respawn. A rogue was camping the spawns in the tower, so I killed the few that patrol down the road, and left after about 5 kills. I woke up this morning only about g away from my epic mount, so I decided to go back to the tower. No one was there, so I camped the tower. Killed the bottom 2, went to the top, killed the 3, came back down, and killed those 2 about 3 or 4 more times.

So, on about my 15th kill, the formula dropped. Sold for g on Lightninghoof. Comment by Allakhazam Farmed overall for 3 hours tonight and got it. Had to compete against a Hunter though he kept to the upstairs and I got downstairs. Going to farm a little longer since I got the place to myself for the slight chance of a second drop people mention here.
